Lafourche Parish Council Meeting of May 23,2006

FACTS:

The Lafourche Parish District Attorney Cam Morvant was in attendence for a portion of the Lafourche parish council meeting of May 23, 2006.

Speaking on the issue of issueing opinions requested by the council, Mr. Morvant stated “that is what I was elected to do”.

OPINIONS:

In my opinion, with all due respect to my friend Cam Morvant, I must humbly disagree with his statement. The citizens of Lafourche parish, in my opinion, did not vote for a D.A. to control the Lafourche Parish Council.

In my opinion, the citizens did not vote for a D.A. to act as the king of Lafourche Parish.

In my opinion, the citizens elected a D.A. to prosicute criminals, even if they turn out to be elected officials or members of their administrations.

In my opinion, if the organization of Lafourche First was still in existance, they may request of the D.A. to please protect the Lafourche Parish citizenry.
