Lafourche Parish, Long Term or Short Term?
FACTS:
Before the Spanish, French, English, Americans, Acadians, or African Americans, there was in existence a sovereign nation of Native Americans (Houma Indians).
OPINIONS:
The Indians of the Lafourche-Terrebonne region lived in harmony with nature. As a result, the people and his land flourished. The inteference of present day government working against nature is leading us to short term solutions for protection against natural diasters.
It is time that our political leaders take a page from indian history. Be brave, forget about politics, plan long term.
