An Evening in the Jellyfish Pond
FACTS:
The Lafourche Parish Council held its regular scheduled meeting on June 27, 2006. Two articles pertaining to the Lafourche Parish Council meeting were published in the July 2, 2006 edition of The Lafourche Gazette, a community newspaper located in Larose, Louisiana. Both articles were written by Freelance Writer, Alces P. Adams. The titles of these articles are DA Issues Warning to Parish Council and Public Works Director Retains Position .
OPINIONS:
I will examine and comment on the above referenced articles in more details in future blog entries. For this entry, I formed two critical opinions. On the DPW Director issue, in my opinion, this council and Parish President has lost all creditability as leaders of our community and will have no choice but to change the name of the council meeting room to the Lafourche Parish Council Jellyfish Pond.
DA issues warning to Parish Council, one elected official issuing warnings to other elected officials, someone needs lessons on separation of powers in our form of government. In my opinion, the DA of Lafourche Parish acted like a bully on a grade school playground. He Blew a lot of hot air without substance. Of course, the hot air he continues to blow aides the growth of the jellyfish population.
My observations are not personal. The actions and lack of professionalism displayed by my good friends, the DA and many of the Parish government elected officials continue to be an embarrassment to Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, and our great country. The Nation is watching.
