Is The Emperor Wearing Clothes?
FACTS:
When it comes to the present day elected officials in Lafourche Parish, the public is a forgiving public. It has been said by Councilman Phillip Gouaux and Councilman Lindell Toups that this present day Council and Administration is a good one and we are accomplishing a lot. We get along well together. It is said by many people that it is only wishful thinking on their parts (Gouaux and Toups).
I recently asked my neighbor about the house and lot for sale sign in his front yard. His reply was, after 65 years of living in Lafourche Parish, these elected people of today are the worst I have ever seen. “I just can’t take this anymore” (so much for economic development).
OPINIONS:
In my opinion, the public does turn the other cheek when it comes to the present day elected officials of Lafourche Parish. However, the public has no more cheeks to turn, with this group of elected officials. They have slapped the public on every cheek conceivable on the human anatomy.
Was the Emperor really wearing clothes, (fairytale)? Were the bladders really placed on the levee? Was George Randolph legally authorized to drive a public owned vehicle? Was it legal for the Parish President to use a parish credit card to entertain her family members? Didn’t the previous DA prosecute a than seated councilmen for similar actions? Will the parish be able to afford air conditioning for the judges (we are only in the middle of August) after its wasteful unauthorized spending? Is it true that the DA is allegedly organizing social events like the campaign rally in Golden Meadow? Is it true that most people in Lafourche Parish are asking, where are the sheriff and DA? Does the sheriff and DA really believe that the Emperor was wearing clothes? The public has no more cheeks to turn, do your job or lose it, Mr./Ms. elected official.
The people of Lafourche Parish would like to thank the political organization known as Lafourche First for their assistance in achieving our present day status of “GOOD GOVERNMENT”, but we can not, our cheeks are too sore.
The only solution to the mess we are in, is on election day. stay in touch, become better informed, do not believe the words you hear at a campaign rally, or we will end up in the same mess we have now. Follow the money and you will know, who not to vote for.
