Lafourche Parish Cover-up? or Cover-up?
FACTS:
A district attorney on a TV series once said, “it is usually the cover-up, not the crime that brings down the high and mighty”.
OINIONS:
After viewing my good friend Cam Morvant’s attempt to settle the alleged “Water Weenie” scam at last Tuesday’s Lafourche Parish Council meeting, I am now wondering how many other public officials may be involved in the alleged cover-up. DA Morvant stated that the council may want to consider paying US Flood Control nine hundred and somewhat thousand dollars rather than the four hundred somewhat thousand dollars invoice. The DA stated that the parish used 150 water weenies for 28 days to the best of his knowledge. The odds are that US Flood Control will challenge the Council in court. What about the truth Mr. DA?
In my opinion, the council should approve “0″ dollars to US Flood Control. Let the company take the council to court and prove that any amount of weenies was ever used. Lets deal with the true facts, Mr. DA.
1. Was there really a threat of flooding? Prove it.
2. Was there ever more than one weenie set out on the levee? Prove it.
3. Have Charlotte Randolph prove that she authorized the use of the weenies while she had the presidential emergency authority.
4. Is it true that the date on the invoice is two days before the so-called emergency? Why?
5. Why would an invoice received by DPW in September reflect charges through October?
6. Is there a contract, written or verbal, approved by the Lafourche Parish Governing Authority?
Charlotte Randolph, Phillip Gouaux, Brent Callais and a few others cannot deny that they kept the rental of water weenies a secret from the public, media and most importantly, the Lafourche Parish Governing Authority. The tax payers will have the truth. How many more people will be involved in the alleged cover-up of the alleged get rich quick scheme? Remember, “it is usually the cover-up, not the crime that bring down the high and mighty”.
