Lafourche Parish “First Responders”, are some of the best in the country.

FACTS:

A friend driving to work towards Port Fourchon, Louisiana spotted what appeared to be hundreds of emergency vehicles with flashing lights.  The friend said he has never seen so many police cars in his life.  He figured it was free do-nuts or a drug bust.  It turned out to be a weather related emergency in Leeville, Louisiana.  Lafourche Parish first responders are quick at responding to emergencies in Lafourche Parish.  They are well trained and always willing to work when needed.

OPINIONS:

If there really was an emergency in the Valentine, Louisiana area after Hurricane Rita, the first responders would have surely been there to help in that alleged spoof of an emergency.  They weren’t.  WHY?  Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph committed the tax payers of Lafourche Parish and the rest of the nation to spend $5.3 million on rental fees for inflatable levees.  This act was kept a secret from the Lafourche Parish Governing authority.  WHY?  Many Lafourche Parish tax payers truly believe that the Water Weenie event is an alleged scam.  The people responsible for protecting the tax payers (FEMA, Sheriff, District Attorney, State Attorney General, Federal Attorneys, etc.) appear to be somewhere out of the country on vacation.
The tax payers last chance of protection lies with the Lafourche Parish Council ( the jelly fish pond).  That is right, the tax payers still have a chance.  Some brilliant employee of FEMA sent Lafourche Parish over 5 million dollars to pay off the alleged scam.  Tuesday night will be the day of reckoning.  The money cannot be paid without council approval.  Should at least 5 council members vote against payment, the tax payers win.  Should the majority of the council vote the proposal down, it will be interesting to see the reaction of the DA.  A vote against payment may get the DA to move on the issue.
Stay in touch, observe which council members develop a vertebrate (BACKBONE or SPINE).  Common sense, remember, if it really was an emergency, it wouldn’t have been kept a secret for over 10 months.  Cam Morvant can sugar coat this issue all he want, but it still look like an alleged get rich quick scam at the expense of the tax payers.  Where were the elite First Responders?
