When Will Lafourche Parish Tax Payers Receive Professional Representation From Our Elected Officials?
FACTS:
I closed my last blog entry by stating, “we will examine Cam’s response to Cullen”. I changed my mind. Cam’s response was so juvenile and unprofessional, it is not worth repeating. It is obvious that Cam’s response was prompted by anger. A person who responds with emotions rather than professionalism, may want to consider not serving in any public office. Public servants are being paid by tax payers to provide an assigned service to the tax payer. The public servant should know the duties of his/her elected assigned position and should possess the ability to conduct tax payers business in a professional manner.
OPINIONS:
As I was growing up there was a clothing store named Eymard’s. They would hold a clearance sale once a year. People would line up along side Louisiana Highway One for hours in anticipation of being the first person to reach a particular item. I remember my mother telling my father about the amount of money she saved by waiting for the clearance sale. I also remembered my father saying “imagine how much money you would have saved by staying home”.
In reference to the flood protection (bladder) issue, My good friend the DA is telling the Lafourche Parish Council that he may be able to save the tax payers 4 million dollars by allowing him to speak with the rental vendor. In my opinion, Cam can save the tax payers 5 million dollars by simply doing the job he was elected to do. I understand that my Good Friend Cam would like this issue to just go away. In my opinion, the Lafourche First concept of “GOOD GOVERNMENT”, do not include cover up of an alleged crime at tax payers expense. Why is former governor Edwin Edwards serving time in a federal facility? Why were former Sheriffs from Lafourche Parish sentenced to correctional institutions? Why were former state Insurance commissioners sentenced to correctional institutions? In one word, “prosecutions”. In my opinion, Charlotte Randolph and several of her co-conspirators are alleged to have violated the tax payers trust equal too or greater than the fore mentioned group of public servants. Why does it appear that my good friend, Cam Morvant, is trying to make this issue go away by paying out 1 million dollars of tax payers money?
Stay in touch, this is one of the few places you will read the truth. Is it true that we have public corruption in Lafourche Parish? I don’t know, but it is the responsibility of our elected officials to prove or disprove, not assist in cover up. Are they living up to their responsibility?
