Lafourche Parish Facts And Opinions

FACTS:

Lafourche Parish operated for 20 years under its original charter.  A group of individuals decided that the parish would be better off under a revised charter.  A revised charter was voted in by the voters and lasted 4 years. The charter was revised a second time and is in affect at present (3 1/2 years).  The voters will once again be asked to vote for charter change number three.  Did Lafourche Parish ever need a charter change?  Does Lafourche Parish need a charter change now?

OPINIONS:

The District attorney, Cam Morvant, began his first term as DA during the fourth year of the charter’s first revision.  He began his term by show-boating and being a bully at his first council meeting.  He walked up to the podium pulling a cart loaded with what he claimed to be ordinances approved by the seated council.  He stated that every ordinance would have to be redone (it was unnecessary).  When he was asked why he was doing this, he stated “I am a stickler for the law”.  In my opinion, my good friend Cam was a failure during his first year as a district attorney.  His only accomplishment during his first year was to constantly interfere with the governing authority.  In my opinion, Cam Morvant should have been indicted and prosecuted for his interference. 

At the first meeting of the present day council, Cam went into executive session and had the new council drop law suits against people who had expended public funds without legal authorization.  This act of dropping law suits filed against Cam’s political contributors cost the tax payers millions of dollars.  Cam’s most recent fiasco cost the tax-payers $3.5 million (payment for the alleged flood protection scam or alleged FEMA fraud).

Did Cam live up to his words of being a stickler for the law during this council’s term?  Cam often show-boated and practiced being a bully while attending parish council meetings.  Cam threatened elected officials of the governing authority by stating, ”if it is brought up to my attention, I will take the necessary action, speaking of failure to follow the charter or parish ordinances.  It is openly acknowledged that the following allegedly violated the charter and ordinances without legal consequences; Cam Morvant, Charlotte Randolph, Brent Callais, and Phillip (Al Sharpton) GO.

In my opinion, the problem with the charter is the DA.  Change the DA, not the charter.  You cannot drink your VODKA and drive too, unless you are a chosen political figure in Lafourche Parish.

FACTS:

My sources, who were in attendance at last night’s Lafourche Parish Council Meeting, reported that my good friend DA Cam Morvant successfully talked the Jelly-fish councilmen into shafting the tax-payers once again.  The Jelly-fish council voted in favor of paying $3.5 million to the alleged Charlotte Randolph flood control bag SCAM.  Speaking against payment, according to my sources, were council members Lasseigne, Atzenhoffer, Matherne and Lorraine.  Voting against Cam Morvant’s advice were Lasseigne and Lorraine.  As usual, Callais was absent from this contraversal meeting, also.

OPINION:

In my opinion, there isn’t anyone who can prove that the flood control bags were ever needed, used, actual number used if any.  I fully expected this Jelly-fish council to vote in favor of wasting tax payers money, but I am appalled that the District Attorney dropped the ball on yet another alleged corruption activity.

DA Cam Morvant failed in successfully prosecuting a grandmother charged with allegedly making harassing phone calls to her adult son.  He failed in harassing the grandmother into accepting his so-called deals.  In my opinion, my good friend Cam Morvant should change his title to “Prostituting Attorney” (I did not misspell prosecuting).  Cam is quick at offering P. T. I. (pre- trial intervention), it is less work and more money for his office.  DA Cam Marvant’s PTI letters read, be at my office at a certain time. on or before a certain date and bring your check book.  In my opinion, Cam’s new PTI letter will read, be at my office at a certain time on a certain day and bring your check book along with a bottle of “VODKA”.

Why does The Lafourche Parish District Attorney threatening to prosecute selective council members if they violate the parish charter or parish ordinances?  We will examine this issue and others in, “Change the Charter or Change the DA? PART-2″.

FACTS:

Why didn’t The Lafourche Parish President’s self proclaimed meetings with members of congress turn up in the headlines of The Lafourche Gazette issue of August 22,2007?  If you were to read the entire news paper, you would see a picture of Charlotte Randolph with Congress woman Nancy Pelosi (speaker of the House) and Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco on page 13-A.  It is located in the public notice section.

OPINIONS:

In my opinion, if Charlotte Randolph possessed one shred of dignity, she would keep this picture in her personal “CRAP” book and out of the view of the public.  What is Ms. Randolph’s intent? Nancy Pelosi is the speaker of the house of the do nothing and lowest rating of any US Congress (Failure?).  Governor Blanco has the intelligence to not run for a second term.  If the intent of Ms. Randolph is to try and compare herself to these accomplished ladies, then I will opine.  In my opinion, Ms. Randolph’s abilities relate closer to  the failed attempt of Pelosi as a leader than to Blanco’s intelligence of not running for re-election. 

I wonder if Charlotte told Kathleen and Nancy about her alleged activities of helping 40 of her friends violate FEMA regulations which could cause the lost of flood insurance to the citizens of Lafourche Parish?  In my opinion, our future will be much brighter without today’s political leaders.

FACTS:

In Lafourche Parish, the DA is Mr. Morvant.  The sheriff is Mr. Webre.  The Governing authority President is Ms. Randolph and her spouse is George.

OPINIONS:

Once upon a time, in a far-away land, there was a kingdom with a judicial system and governing authority similar to that of counties in the United States of America.  One day, an inquisitive young journalist student approached a wise old owl and asked a series of questions.

Student (S). I hear that our prosecuting attorney drink a lot of alcoholic beverages.

Owl (O). Is he an alcoholic or a drunk?

S. It appears that with all his resources and programs, he would seek help if he was an alcoholic.  He must be a drunk.  Why would a person in his position choose to be a drunkard?

O. I believe it is because his mother raised him with good moral values and when he violates those values on a daily basis, his guilt drives him to drink.

S. Why is he so protective of the leader of our governing authority and her spouse?

O. Birds of a feather?

S. I understand that drunks will defend other drunks, but why does our chief law enforcement officer defend these political leaders, he is not a drunk.

O. He, as a few others in his generation, are desensitized.  They have no moral values. Their only allegiance is to “SELF” and the all mighty dollar.

S. Well who is leading who in this web of deceit and corruption?

O. I will tell you a true story. You be the judge.  A young adult son, having a temper tantrum, went to the chief law-enforcement officer for advice on a family situation.  A true professional would have advised the young man to seek family counseling.  The CLEO told the young man to file phone harassment charges on his mother, who was also a grandmother, and he would handle the rest.  Imagine this, with all of the crime in the kingdom, the Cleo and our prosecuting attorney continued to harass (the grandmother went to court to plead not guilty, the prosecuting attorney would not allow her, because they offered her a pre-trial intervention program.  They told her to bring her check book.  She refused the P.T.I. program because she wasn’t guilty.  They had her continue to appear in court six times. They continued to offer PTI and she continued to refuse.  They became so desperate that they offered just about everything but a Hawaiian vacation, the grandmother refused.) the grandmother for nine months.  The grandmother was victorious in a court of law.  The people of the kingdom are fortunate to have a couple of honest judges who cannot be controlled by other corrupted public officials.  Hopefully, if your adult child is angry with you, he or she will seek advice from a professional, not from the prosecuting attorney or the chief law-enforcement officer.

S. It is difficult to believe that the citizens of the kingdom allows these corrupted individuals to serve in our kingdom.

O. It takes a little while for the general public to develop a flavor for change, but believe you me, change is coming.

FACTS:

Brent Callais is a council member on the Lafourche Parish Council.  Charlotte Randolph is the Lafourche Parish President.  Camille “CAM” Morvant, II is the Lafourche Parish District Attorney.  Craig Webre is the sheriff of Lafourche Parish.  Lafourche First is an alleged political organization that allegedly endorsed the fore mentioned political leaders.

OPINIONS:

It is rumored that councilman Brent Callais of district eight in Lafourche parish will not seek re-election.  WHY?  It is alleged that the sheriff and DA went out on a limb to have Callais elected.  It is alleged that Sheriff Craig Webre came up with a scheme to fool the public at tax payers expense.  It is alleged that the sheriff provided a bullet proof vest and deputy body guards to Brent Callais during Callais’ campaign (the sad part is that the public bought into the scheme).  It is alleged that my good friend Cam Morvant, the DA, knew of the scheme and done nothing about it.  In my opinion, it appears that Mr. Callais has a little more intelligence than Charlotte Randolph.  It is alleged that Ms. Randolph lost most of her support, especially Cam and Craig.  It is alleged that Callais realize that the sheriff’s campaign is in trouble and as a result, will not take part in Callais re-election.  It is alleged that this election reflects on the times when the deputies supported Duffy Breaux over Cyrus “Bobby” Tardo and supported Craig Webre over Duffy Breaux.  Although the DA’s election is in 2008, it is alleged that he will have a difficult time being re-elected.

It is alleged that Lafourche First is so embarrassed with the elected officials they endorsed that they may never come out of hiding.  In my opinion, if the political trinity have an ounce of dignity left, they would not seek re-election.  Good luck in the future Mr. Callais, you are making a good choice not to run for re-election.

FACTS:

As Charlotte Randolph was campaigning for the position of the Lafourche parish president in 2003, she made several statements which are beginning to haunt her.  The 2000-2004 council issued variances from FEMA regulations to help the people of Lafourche parish.  In reference to the variances, Ms. Randolph stated that the council’s actions could cause the citizens of Lafourche to loose their flood insurance (false statement).  Ms. Randolph, with her scare tactics, said “all they have to do is follow the rules”.

Ms. Randolph also stated that the tax payers of Lafourche parish paid too many taxes.  She went on to say, that if elected, she would lower the tax burden on the tax payers of Lafourche parish.

OPINIONS:

In my opinion, Ms. Randolph should practice what she preach.  Ms. Randolph should at the least, follow some of the rules.  There exist on the parish books, an ordinance, which states that the parish shall follow FEMA regulations.  My good friend the DA stated that he will see that all parish ordinances are obeyed. 

It is alleged that FEMA investigated Lafourche Parish last week and discovered “40 VIOLATIONS”.  It is also alleged that there were no variances issued by the governing authority and no supporting paper work found in the permits department.  It is alleged that Ms. Randolph took it upon herself to help out a few friends at the tax payers expense.  Will the sheriff investigate these allegations?  Will my good friend the DA seek indictments and prosecute?  Is this another Charlotte Randolph political blunder or is it public corruption?

It is alleged that Charlotte Randolph want to increase taxes in Lafourche Parish.  In an effort to gain the support of the senior citizens in an election year, Ms. Randolph is claiming that the increase in taxes are needed by our senior citizens.  Ms. Randolph is not telling the tax payers of Lafourche that she allegedly took monies ear-marked for the health-units (our children) and senior citizens in order to purchase a pink elephant (office building) for non other than my good friend, Cam Morvant.  Is this a blunder by the political trinity (CAM, CRAIG, and CHARLOTTE) or is it public corruption?

Beware of the Lafourche Parish “Political Trinity”.  We will continue to disect their actions and report to the looser of Lafourche Parish, the tax payer.  We want to thank each member of the organization known as “Lafourche First”, without your money and input, we could be experiencing “GOOD GOVERNMENY”, today.

FACTS:

It is alleged that the unnecessary flood control project saga is still going on.  The Lafourche Parish Council’s Randolph administration is still trying to give away $5 million of tax payers money.  Did the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office under the leadership of Craig Webre, investigate this alleged criminal activity?  Is the Lafourche Parish DA’s office under the leadership of Cam Morvant, looking into possible indictments and prosecution?

OPINIONS:

It is alleged that the Randolph administration has done several things which would warrant an investigation and possible indictments in Lafourche Parish.  In my opinion, the sheriff, Craig Webre and my good friend, DA Cam Morvant, have been busy for the last nine months trying to harass a grandmother charged with harassing phone calls.  In my opinion, the sheriff and DA must feel that a mother’s phone call to an adult son poses more of a threat to society than the tax payers of Lafourche getting ripped off by elected officials.

A grandmother was charged with making harassing phone calls to her adult son by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office.  The DA had the grandmother appear in court, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, six or seven times in a period of nine months (speedy trial?, HARASSMENT?).  Finally, the judge not only found the grandmother not guilty but appeared to question the DA’s motive for bringing this case to trial. Perhaps my good friend the DA feels that if he cannot be successful in prosecuting a little grandmother on a misdemeanor, there is no way he could possibly get a conviction on a felony.

Why isn’t the sheriff investigating alleged corruption in Lafourche parish?  Why is the DA trying to have the council pay five million dollars of tax payers’ money rather than doing his job by indicting a few public officials?  Why isn’t the FBI investigating these alleged corrupted public officials?  I don’t know, but if you are interested, you can call the FBI at 816 3000.
