The Reform Louisiana Legislature:
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal would like to be known as the reform Governor. He has called for a special session of the Legislature on ethics reform, schedule to begin Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 6:00PM.
OPINIONS:
It was stated in the media that some present day ethics board members stated that the Governor’s recommendations for ethics reform legislation would weaken the ethics laws.A caller on the WWL talk show stated that Jindal will go down in history as the “Republican Edwin Edwards”.
My main concern is the person who is representing me in Representative District 54. Representative Gerry “Truck” Gisclair stated on his radio station during previous election campaigns that the people should vote for young blood with new ideas. This is the same person who at 60 years old, ran against younger candidates. Mr. Gisclair has yet to come up with an original idea.
It was stated that Mr. Gisclair received a phone call from George Randolph which stated that he (Mr. Gisclair) must not allow Darryl Marlbrough to appear on his radio station ever again. Mr. Gisclair honored Mr. Randolph’s request. If Mr. Gisclair can be so easily convinced by a low-life like George Randolph, what do you think will happen with a legislative body stacked with attorneys?
I will not prejudge Mr. Gisclair, but rest assured that I will judge and comment on his legislative actions.
